Sonia Sotomayor is So Much Solid Manure

She was shoveling with both hands and kicking with both feet this week.  It was a solid broadside of crap.  Her defenders say her comments were taken out of context.  How can her "Wise Latina" comment suffer from being taken out of context when she stated it seven different times?  Of course she meant it, and that makes her a racist and a sexist.  She must have felt so humuliated being cross examined by all those white men massed before her at the hearings.  Also, who was that white man sitting next to her?  Oh, that was her father, who is white, and so is So Much Solid Manure.

Talk about a rebel without a cause, she's a rebel without a clue.  She is insisting on a specificity without a definition.  Latino or Hispanic are social short hand for socialist propaganda and there is no single monolithic Hispanic vote.  There are Cubans, Mexicans, Costa Rican, Columbians, Hondurans, Brazilians and Dominicans; but they are all not all one ethnic or racial group.  In fact, the Brazilians speak Portugese, not Spanish.  But let's not confuse the clueless with facts.  She is a white woman insisting on an additional groupism and has used it as the only justification for her advancement through her life.  She even associated herself with a racist organiztion, La Raza, to promote her victim status.  If you want to know my opinion on La Raza, check out my posting on this organization.

What was even more insulting, was her one moment of clarity and honesty; when she admitted that judges set policy (pass law) from the bench when she said "I know I'm on tape and we're not supposed to say this but..."  Now she denies it all.  She should never be confirmed for this comment alone.

We have a legal system consiting of two parts, Satutory Law is passed by the Legislature of the United States and the state legislatures, while Common Law is created by court decisions.  Both are subject to the Constitution, not international law or the whims of pompous *ss legislatures or jurists.

It's a way to build a wall between ourselves and our worst tendencies.  This wall consists of the bricks placed there as laws passed by our supposedly representative legislatures and the gaps between the bricks are sealed with the mortar of court decisons for specificity, of the law, not personal agendas.  How can that wall stand if it is made up of substandard mortar?  Sotomayor is an example of such substandard, watery mortar and should be rejected.

P.S. to her B.S.: Manure makes a very poor mortar, but keep on shoveling Sotomayor.

The Coronation

Was everyone as fed up with the anauguration as I was?  For a protector of the people, Obam had to be bailed out of his own extravagent coronation.  This after he had complained about the $1,200,000 spent remodeling the executive offices of Merrill Lynch before the October surprise, and yet he blows more than a hundred times that that amount, at $150,000,000 on a one day Maoist rally and outspends George W. Bush's second anauguration four to one.  After all that, he did not measure up, by flubbing his oath of office.

Obama could have skipped the cermonies, the bankrupt balls, taken the oath in the Rose Garden, walked down to the steps of Congress to give a more inpiring speech, then walked back down Pennsylvania Ave. like Jimmy Carter and gotten to work.  He could have at least saved us some of the $110,000,000 he spent above what was supposedly lavished on Bush.  With his perverse Napolean Complex, it was surprising he did not place a crown upon his head with his own hands.  Napolean did, and all subsequent dictators have always wanted to do the same thing.

Obama had also complained about the Big 3 CEOs flying to Washington for Senate hearings in their private jets.  Over six hundred private jets came to Wahsington for the coronation so their occupants could pay homage to or buy off the new ruler.  Pelosi was already in Washington, so she couldn't fly the Speaker of the House's private jet anywhere.  Of course, we can suggest to the queen bee what she can do with it.

History will show Obama is not the savior, he is not a demi god, he is just a run of the mill demagogue and the head of the newest band of looters.  Everyone needs to read Ayn Rand's "Atlas Shrugged" to know where Obama and the rest of the left are heading.  Rand was born in Russia and was twelve when the Red October Revolution overthrew an earlier, broad based revolution which deposed of the Tsar.  Red October ushered in communist rule.  The people of the new Soviet Union had to then live under Communism as it was imposed upon them.  "Atlas Shrugged" and the Federalist Papers should be required reading in all high schools and journalism schools so the obtuse can be enlightened to the tendency to class envy in pure democracies James Madison warned against in Federalist Paper 10.  If they won't listen to that, remind them of Federalist Paper 29 concerning the militia and the right to bear arms written by Alexander Hamilton.

It is said that those who forget the lessons of history are condemmed to repeat it.  Actually, those who forget the lessons of history force the rest of us to suffer the consequences of their hubris and destructive actions in endleess repetition once they're in power.  We were looted by FDR, Carter and Clinton; we will now be looted more systematically by Obama.

In the future, after the destruction of America and the Economy by the imposition of the newest Communism, we will need to send the culprits to the ultimate retirement home for demagogues, prison.  Former Democrat Rep. Traficante, who was rail roaded into prison for being a real maverick, could have summed up the present situation with his famous send off "Beam me up!"

Obama's Very Bad Poiltical Theater

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette recently praised Obama's idea to take the oath of office on the same Bible used by Lincoln.  They said it was a touching gesture.  How about touched?  The gall of this subterfuge is only exceeded by its arrogance.  The gall comes from the presumption of the least qualified president in American history to use something handled by Honest Abe.  No other president since Lincoln has had the effrontery to attempt this empty political and theatrical gesture.  It's all a farce.

First, Obama is not descended from any black American slaves who were freed by the Emancipation Proclamation, but is descended on his mother's side from white slave holders who suffered from it; so much for truth in advertising.  Add to that fact that Obama is now the head of not the party of Lincoln (the Republicans, who were for Abolition) but of the pro-slavery, pro-Jim Crow party (the Democrats).  Welcome to a production of double speak.  Orwell was only off by twenty-five years.

Second, Obama may very well have occupied the same Senate seat denied to Lincoln because Lincoln was a Republican.  Even though Lincoln is considered to have won the senatorial debates with Douglas, Douglas was appointed to the seat because Illinois was, as it is now, controlled by the Democrats.  That is because senators were appointed by their respective states before the Seventeenth Amendment changed them into elected super stooges, as apposed to the regular representative stooges of the mob; by changing the senators from representatives of the various States in what was originally the States' house.  In this regard, Gov. Blago is right while Senator and Chief Stooge Reid is wrong, as far as Blago appointing a successor to Obama in the seat.  At least the Illinois governor is within his rights.  Obama is out of his mind.

Third, Obama is for the virtual lifetime financial enslavement of us, the taxpayers of America, to finance the continuing indentured servitude of those who pay no taxes and who are themselves in servitude and slavery in perpetuity to the Federal government because of their dependence on Federal programs and largesse.  Will he ever sign a new Emancipation Proclamation for the second group?  Not likely.  Well he rent out the Lincoln Bedroom, Lincoln's old office where Abe signed the Proclamation, to political contributors with cash in hand like Clinton had done in the past?  Very likely.  He is the last man to use the same Bible to take an oath to a document, the Constitution, that he has no intention of upholding.  He is, supposedly, a Constitutional scholar.  However, among liberals, that simply means he is always trying to get around its restrictions to benefit his "Precious", the Federal government.  As a liberal Constitutional scholar, he is in the same company as Sen. Byrd, a former recruiter for the Ku Klux Klan.

Where is Leonard Pinth Garnell (the fictional theatrical critic played by Dan Akroyd on Saturday Night Live) to knock out the support, or plinth, from under this production and chuck this equally fictional piece of Very Bad Political Theater into the trash or dust bin of history?  Obama has only four yers before he joins this empty, touched farce in the same bin.

P.S.  I appreciate your comments.  However, I have not been very good at answering them.  This is not out of arrogance, but because I am not very familiar with email.  I have made it a New Year's Resolution to become more responsive.

Holding Out Against the Idiocy

Again, the conservative Republicans in the House are doing the right thing.  They're holding out against the idiotic hysteria of the moment and the full court press of the Democrat leadership.  The sub prime fiasco has been a long time in coming to its disastrous culmination for it to be decided so decisivley in favor of those who created it.

It is time for more sober, and logical people to speak, even if they are the minority in the Democrat controlled Congress.  There was no agreement yesterday, no bipartisan suicide pact.  In truth, the Democrats do not need the Republicans at all to pass the bailout of something of their own creation; unless it was an example of C.T.A. for the guilt laden Democrats.  Let them hang themselves.  But the Democrats are not known for their bravery when having to admit they are wrong.  Their need for Republican cover is glaring and should not be given.

Instead, the Republican conservatives in the House need to demand a smaller, less introsive bill based only on the mortgages in default without the lower, mark to market estimations contributing to the bloated 700 billion dollars price tag.  At the same time they need to lay the blame on the Democrat leadership and demand the FBI focus their investigation on them.

As the bill was originally structured, Congress would end up with buying up far more good mortgages than bad for that 700 billion dollars (paid by the taxpayers).  They can eventually turn around and could realize a profit of over 1 trillion dollars when they sell the paper they had escorted back to the private sector.  All of this brought about by nationalizing a sizeable chunk of the financial market.  You see, socialism works, when you are the government and can do it over and over again to cover up for the problems you create; in this case to satisfy moronic assumptions of political correctness.  The other suggestion of the government to buy up stock (whether in first or second position) in the same financial institutions, at present bargain basement prices, constitutes another form of nationalization and would also set the same dangerous models for later raids on the private sector.

Stand your ground, conservatives, demand the FBI investigate the Democrats, call your congressmen and senators as we did in the Immigration Reform Bill, while supporting the Republican conservatives in the House.  Remember, it's the Stupid Congress, again.  Even McCain eventually listened to and learned form us and went to Washington this week to fight against something he saw coming years ago.

A Gutsy Move for Stumpy

At least McCain has acknowledged the ugly mess in Congress and is willing to do his job as a senator.  Suspending his campaign and delaying the first debate on foreign policy may be overdoing it; by letting Obama skate away from a potential bloodbath.  Strangely enough, Obama wants the the debate he tried to avoid to go on as planned.

Now that his rival will not be there, perhaps the lawyer Obama thinks he has a chance to win the non-debate.  What will he do in such a one sided event, debate his own ego, or his alter ego?  MaCain's move may also give Obama the excuse to later say McCain had the chance to debate him and canceled out, rather than simply asking for a delay.  What did Barnum used to say?  "Never give a sucker an even break."  McCain just did that with Obama.

The other part of his gutsy move is far more dangerous, but presents him with the chance to gain a great advantage, by not acting as a regular politician and boldly going into the maelstrom of a disaster he forsaw back in 2005.  Now Obama can do nothing but play catch up with McCain.  The old POW is taking the same chance he does every time he crosses the aisle to the other side.  That is, getting his hands cut off to bloody stumps by the Democrat partisans in the Senate, and now the House of Representatives.  He has done it so often, I'm amazed he isn't known as Stumpy, while he is also cut off at the knees.  He may escape the knives of the partisans this time, but I doubt it.  In any event, he should remember who is at fault for the problem and be emphatic, along with President Bush, in holding the Democrats to blame for the scandal.  For all his injuries, McCain seems to personify what Obama only talks about; the audacity of hope.

From Osama to Pres. Obama & the Gobblist News Media

Gobbles said it and the News Media lives it.  "A lie told long enough and often enough becomes the truth."  9/11 was an inside job.  Bombs were placed in the towers for a controlled implosion.  Bush (and/or Chaney) flew one of the planes into one of the World Trade Center towers.  There was no plane at the Pentagon, etc. and ad nauseum.

We thought, on Sept. 11, 2001, that no one could ever forget the barbarism of that day.  Yet, in many ways the liberally stupid among us have forgotten and continue to refuse to acknowledge the causes of 9/11.  They have also refused to play any of the images from that day because the images are too "disturbing".  So is reality.

We were attacked by Islamic Fascists without provocation, as a naked act of terrorism and war.  We've been beating the crap out of them ever since, particularly on the two fronts of the war in Iraq and Afganistan.  But the News Media never report the war in a fair and balanced way.  They say we are always losing.  We should pull out.  We are the ones terrorizing the residents of these countries.  What will the world think?  Who the hell cares!  The envious will always hate us, while they never try to improve themselves and join us in a better life.

The enemies of America always want us to lose, to fall into despair and have our spirit broken.  Those include the many in the News Media who wonder why we do not comply with their warped views, as they rage on against America.  They view themselves as the best and the brightest, yet they are often not as successful as those they view as beneath themselves; while being continually amazed why the rest of us pay them no mind.  I'm too busy working to waste my time with overeducated idiots who take it on themselves to harp on about their presumptions.  They're like the reporter/interogator in the Palin interviewer, looking down over their glasses at her as if they are so sage and judgemental.  Actually, he looked like something Doc Savage once said-like a putz in a pawn shop.  Or was that a porn shop?

I remember, hearing in the background of my life that day, about a plane possibly crashing into one of the towers of the World Trade Center.  It was a terrible tragedy, but not unique, I thought.  An American bomber, on a training mission, had crashed into the Empire State Building in the fog one day in the late 1940's.  Then a second plane plowed into the other tower on a perfectly clear day.  Now it was a deliberate act of terrorism or war.  Then we were all worried, anticipating a rain of planes coming out of the sky and plunging into more buildings after the Pentagon was hit by another plane, not a missile.  No one knew when the next shoe, or plane, would fall or drop.  We didn't know what to expect, or where all the planes were going.  Then the towers fell and the entire airline industry was grounded.

It turned out only one other plane had been taken over and was missing, Flight 93.  Then there were reports it had crashed near my home city of Pittsburgh, after being turned around and aimed toward Washington D.C. and possibly the White House or Congress.  Something had gone wrong, for the terrotists with their rage, their knives and their box cutters.  Americans had fought back, ruined their plans and killed them.  Oh well, no 72 virgins for each of the idiot terrorists.  May they rot.

We have been fighting back ever since, but the Gobblist News Media do little more than attack us and our motives, blaming us for everything.  Now they want to force us to vote for an unknown man with an Arabic name and a glass jaw; a man we are never allowed to find any particulars about his background.  What about the fact, I ask again, that his last name rhymes with the first name of S.O.B. who planned the whole 9/11 attacks?  Or the fact his middle name is the same as the last name of the Butcher of Baghdad.  Yet we are not supposed to even mention that name.  He is applying for the highest position in the country and the world.  We have the right to ask who he is and ultimately reject him as just another overeducated, unqualified non-entity for the presidency.  We can not depend on the assurances, and more to the point dictates, of the News Media.  They constantly tell us, in effect, we are the terrorists and have brought 9/11 upon ourselves.

This year, it will be the Gobblist News who will fall, imploding on themselves with the weight of their own propaganda.  It is propaganda Gobbles would by proud of and approve.  The difference is, now we can debunk their propaganda and act according to own free will.  May they rot.

McCain and Palin Outflank the Left

McCain has made a great choice for V.P. and now the News Media are enraged.  Good.  All they can find to attack is Palin's daughter on something they overlook in other situations.  Their mental meltdowns and faux morality are laughable.  If Obama's daughters were older and one of them was a pregnant teen, the subject would be outlawed for discussion, the situation too private a matter for public discussion.

The glaring shortcomings and failures of Liberal Democrats are always treated in this fashion.  Bill Clinton cheating on his wife was a private affair and should not even have been discussed.  He lied under oath, according to him, to keep from hurting Hillary and Chelsea.  Clinton should have thought about the consequences before he did everything ahead of time, and with the right part of his anatomy.  His gross misconduct was ignored and even justified by the News Media.  They still were not able to contain it, even Ben and Jerry's came out with a new ice cream flavor in honor of Clinton called Chubby Cheatin Hubby.  If it was a private matter for Bill; it's a private matter for Gov. Palin.  What the News Media is really mad about is the other baby, her second son born with Down's was not aborted.  Palin has kept her son in accordance with her beliefs.  Both children are being accepted into the family, and still the media looks on in shock.

The News Media is also trying to attack Palin on lack of experience.  Experience?  She has two years' worth of experience as govenor of Alaska and is the only govenor on either tickets.  If she had been in the same job in Arkansas, she would be finishing or near to finishing her first term, since the office only has a two year term, rather than a four year term as is the rule in most states.  Because the News media have only this fine point of semantics to argue, they are obviously desperate for points of contention.

Another thing the News Media are mad about is the fact Palin is a NRA member and likes to hunt, fish and supposedly has a bear skin rug in her office.  What a great future photo shoot for her new son and her grandchild.  Let us not forget her husband works in the oil fields and she is for increased domestic oil production.

The reason the Left and the News Media have been outflanked is simply because McCain, that old white guy, picked a female govenor from Alaska who is more qualified to be President than Obama.  This happened after Obama threw Hillary under the bus (talk about a speed bump) and chose another old white guy as his running mate who is just as unfit for the office.  In the end, the Liberal Democrats are all about talk and appearance and will always be outflanked by substance.

Tossing My Cookies

I have not been able to post for a few days because I decided to eliminate (toss) my cookies on my computer and unfortunately disrupted my acceess to my blog.  In other words, I was experiencing a tech problem, but I've been able to resolve it, hopefully, and will be back with some more views on politics, econmics and the general idiocy of the Left.  With the all the politics going on now, I have a lot to comment on in the next two to three months.  Obama, the Clintons and the Democrat Congress will keep me busy enough by themselves.

For The New Yorker-Scrape off Egg, Insert Foot

For satire to work, you need to know your audience and your target.  The New Yorker missed the target (us) and offended their audience.  Barry Blitt must have been blitzed when he drew the cartoon, a cartoon one would expect to see at townhall.com rather than the clueless New Yorker.  It didn't offend me at all.  I found it refreshing and thought it was a parody of the Left, rather than an ineffective attack by the Left.

It merely summarized some of our concerns about Obama, not our fears, and seemed to be an admission by the liberally obtuse that we were on the Right track; as far as goading Obama, rather than attacking him.  Barrack Obama is too insubstantial and changeable to really attack or become mad at for any length of time.  He is just some wayward, goofy bafoon; like Bill Clinton or the other Shill Du Jour Democrat presidential candidates the liberals trot out every four years in the hope that bull, like pigs, can actually fly.

What the Left fails to do every election year; besides believing their own press, is simply realize the American People's growing awareness of how predictibly stupid they are in the end.  The drugs and the booze from the 60's and 70's have to wear off sometimes, even for the humorless and deluded Left.  The jury is still out on their angry, reactionary and mind numbed audience.  Thinking for yourself is such hard work.

Sen. Graham is Right. It's all Mental.

Dr. Graham, an Economist, is right, the whiners wrong.  The recession is only in some people's whiny little heads, not in reality.  We have not had two successive quarters of economic decline; simply two quarters of whiners in the news media and the resonating chants of woe from their chorus among the Losers of America.  In the real Ameica, misery and a recession from life are all in the mind of the enfeebled.

My life is not perfect; I live in Pittsburgh, needless to say.  Here, I am surrounded by our own whiny politicians, union members, over educated liberal academics and college students.  We even had a demonstration featuring at least three medical students from the Pitt School of Medicine carrying signs saying, in effect, health care over profits.  They are medical students in school on someone else's dime, so they can be self-deluded.  Wait till they have to pay the loans back under Obam's restrictive national healthcare system; then they'll whine, demanding the government, the very source of their problems, to bail them out.  We are suffering from an epidemic of complaints and a suspension of personal effort, backed up by what the deluded read or hear in the news.

Unemployment is at 5.5%, a state of Nirvana in the later Clinton years, brought about by a Republican Congress after the Democrats lost both houses because of the massive tax increases during Bubba's first two years,  Then, life was bliss, the President a compassionate visionary overseeing a new, inspired golden age in its ascendancy; while the Republicans cut taxes, spending and Welfare without notice or praise.  Conservative Economics, like the truth, are so boring to those too lazy to dream for themselves.  At the same time, these economic principles bring to others dreams that they try, no mater how slowly, to bring into reality; while they tell the govenment to go to hell.  The fallacy to the first group's top down Socailism is their failure to realize the people in government are exactly like them, with cushy jobs on the taxpayers' dole, who have every icentive to do nothing.  The bureaucrats only motivate themselves enough to whine and hope for a change.  They want even more power and money under the new visionary, Osama Obama.

This is the chorus of malcontents all the news stories are geared toward.  It's simply to keep them complaining and making the rest of us uncomfotible because of their insistent idiocy.  Congratualtions to Dr. Phil Graham for analyzing them and showing them to be a nation of whiners.  They are, after all is said and done, a vocal minority fouling their immediate surroundings within a much larger nation of hard working Ameircans.  They are also an endless trove for satire and debunking.  They sure keep me busy, aggravating them to the point of derision and hearing them complain.  That is why I'm marked in Pittsburgh (Pgh for short) as a Conservative and a Republican.  As a Republican, I would like to recommend Dr. Phil (Graham, that is) to be put on the short list for VP.  The two candidates are too ignorant of Economics, too busy whinig to mind the store and neither will last long in office.  We don't need whiners, we need a sound backup to these two economic dolts.

A Big Wet Kiss to the Incompetent

How are libs in Congress qualified to bailout the sub prime scandal?  Simple, they're as incompetent as those they are bailing out.  The criteria to be a liberal is very low, all you have to be is more ill-informed and a bigger choader head than those you are are preaching against.  It's so reassuring to see tha the boobs in Congress still don't get it.  After causing the sub prime problem, they reward and hold blameless the very people who should never have received the loans in the first place.  Is it because they see kindred spirits in the incompetents who default?  Congressional liberals are always defaulting on their socialist programs, then demanding more money from us in the form of taxes in order to bail themselves out; even though the increased taxes reduce the frequency of activity and lead to less revenue from extortion than they predicted using static analysis.  Then why not bail out their equals in the general public to the tune of hundreds of billions of dollars?  The House and the Senate are giving a big wet kiss to people who only received loans from lending institutions under pressure from Congress, who will now be rewarded for their failure later this week.  Call or email your Senator and representative throughout this week in order to defeat the wet kiss before it becomes law.  We did it, several times, during the defeats we gave to Congress during immigration reform.  The next step is to have the libs in Congress give their own buts a big wet kiss on the way out the door after November 5th.  Maybe the door smacking them on their buts and the back of their heads at the same time will actually stimulate competent thought at last.

Triangulating Obama

Gen Clark says McCain being a fighter pilot and a P.O.W. for five years does not qualify him to be President.  Barack,  what did you do at the same time in your life?  It certainly wasn't being put through real torture.  Again, the liberal Democrats attack a Republican, turn a strength (in this case, of character and standing up to adversity) and try to deminish it to insignificance or into a liability by someone other than the Democrat candidate.  This allows the Democrat candidate to triangulate himself above it all, while letting his agents continue the attacks.  As good as Obama is with prepared rhetoric, he doesn't have the slick, smooth dance moves of  Bill Clinton and we are getting tired of the old "how can we fool them today" song and dance of the Left.  They have done this since the Clinton administration as they raise their candidate above the muck raking carried out by other liberals.  It's turning into its own form of a long range torture, of the truth.

Chicago Tibune, Read Hamilton

Thanks Lady Logician.  The Trib should read Hamilton, then extract communal head from their backside!  First, they need to fire their own editors for not checking with the founding fathers, instead of contemplaiting their navels from the inside.  There was no army of any magnitude at the time of the Constitutional Convention or during its ratification (see Federalist Paper 29, you idiots) and Hamilton emphasized the appointment of the officers of the militia exclusively by the states, another party to the Constitution along with the people, to placate the states' fears of the new Federal government possibly using the various state militias against the states by marching those militias state to state and against individual citizens.  Even before the Constitution, none of the then colonies had anything to do with the organizing of the Minute Men militias who faced the British at Lexington.  That was done, brace yourselves, by the individuals who stood up to the British Empire and started the War of Independence.  These citizens, the People of the United States, wanted to protect their natural right to keep and bear arms while at the same time possibly put together a national militia to at least supplement the army or be a substitute to and the best possible security against it (see my post on Reasonableness and the Courts from today just after 7PM and Lady Logician's post at about the same time).  Their right to keep and bear arms and to protect themselves and their neighbors proceeded the writing of the Constitution and were then formerly protected by the Second Amendment.  It's all about individual rights, just like the people today have the right not to listen to imbeciles like the one who wrote the article in question and the subpar editor who didn't properly fact check him.  No wonder the liberal newspapers are losing readership, the ailment is self-inflicted.  Shove away.

Reasonableness and the Courts

The Supreme Court this week threw out the D.C. gun ban, but only by a 5 to 4 ruling.  Justice Scalia, writing for the majority, said there is no ambiquity, gun ownership and thus the keeping and bearing of arms is an individual right.  Justice Scalia is right, because he and the other conservative justices are wise and learned justices who respect the Constitution, but not the four who voted for the gun band.   Justice Kenndy, again, was the swing vote, opening and closing on our rights.  The question is what took so long?  Since when can a power of a free people, as a group, a militia, not be the right of an individual militia man and be taken all the way to the Supreme Court to decide in a majority ruling?  In an Obama dominated court, will this individual right be so easily canceled by a simple majority of unelcted bureaucrats in robes?

The preamble to the Constition begins with "We the People of the United States of America, in order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice..."  Though it does not state every person, the individual is explicit, as he is in the Second Amendment.  The people and the individual have the right to keep and bear arms in order to self-drill himself and themselves in the use of weapons as part of the militia which, as its author George Mason said, "is the whole of the people" wherein the individual is still explicitly included in a right that was first protected in the Virginia Bill of Rights.

Now the Justices say gun control may be reasonable.  But what is reasonable when it comes to the Federal government?  If it took this long to confirm the clearly stated individual right in the Second Amendment, because of a distortion of semantics, leads me to ask the following question.  How can the Federal govenment be trusted with anything reasonable?  Hamilton allowed that no one could predict how the Congress would go about such control of guns as to safety in Federalist Paper 29.  Still, he and the other founders so concerned with individual liberty would not tolerate the constant assaults on this unalienable right by Congress and the courts.  The government has proved itself untrustworthy of that stewardship.  At least the members of the House and Senate are nominally elected by us.  However, safety does not mean infringing the individual's rights to the encroaching will of the Federal government.

We, the American people, have the ongoing duty to safeguard our right to guns and to protet ourselves against our own government.  Why else would Hamilton say, in Federalist Paper 29, in regard to the proposed army "that army can never be formidable to the liberties of the people, while there is a large body of citizens little if at all inferior to them in discipline and the use of arms, who stand ready to defend their own rights and those of their fellow citizens (italics added)....the best possible security against it, if it should exist."   An armed citizenship is always the best counter balance to an ever expanding government.  The courts have no right, as unelected and unanswerable lawmakers, to even consider gun contol of any kind, or as arbiters of the self-evident and inalienalbe right to the keeping and bearing of arms by the individual citizens of America.  That right, the People and America all existed before the creation of the Fedral government and the Federal courts by the Constitution and will never be subsumed to them.

Texas Tea Party

A new TV series premiered Wednesday night, 6-18-08 called "Black Gold", which may help to strengthen our argument for increased drilling and concerns three oil rigs along with their drilling teams in West Texas.  It's from the same producers of "The Deadliest Catch", the most popular non-fiction show on cable.

Along with "Ice Road Truckers" and "AxeMen" and a another one on lobster men off the coast off Cape Cod, these shows highlight the tenacity of free enterprise in fulfilling economic demands, even with government over burden, rules and regulations hampering their every step.  In addition,"Ice Road Truckers" this year is all about supplying gas wells and related facilities in the Arctic Ocean off the northern coast of Canada where trucks drive over a frozen ocean without a net, social or otherwise.  For all its socialized medicine and the absence of a First Amendment, the Canadian government seems to have less restrictions on natural gas exploration than America, including the drilling for something new called gas hydriants (consisting of methane gas frozen among ice crystals in permafrost).  Another interesting detail is the wells on land are set up and taken down every year on snow and ice covering the native tundra, the same techniques proposed for ANWR and not alowed by Congress.

These ultimate reality TV series show the problems, the frustrations, triumphs and accomplishments of capitalists and their crews of poor, exploated workers (most of whom make anywhere from $50,000 to over $100,000 per anum) primarily on straight commision.  They only eat what they kill.  The price to pay on dealiest catch also includes whole days of constant fishing.  Congress only kills incentive and achievement among the American people, while some of their members make extra money on special interests through their own form of commision, called extortion, in a national protection racket.

Only the roughnecks in West Texas receive any hourly compensation because of the high number of dry wells which need to be drilled to create a producing well.  Even in "Black Gold" the roughnecks make that shortcoming up by further exploiting themsleves through overtime and bonuses, to the tune of $70,000 for worms (green horns) and over $100,000 for experienced drillers a year.  Aren't these supposed to be the jobs Americans won't do?  Where's the minimum wage on a oil well,a fishing boat, a truck or a mountainside?  If you give people, either Americans or Canadians, a chance through free enterprise and opportunity; it's amazing how much they will work to improve their situation in life.  Whether they're paid hourly plus OT plus bonus, by the pound for king or snow crab or lobster (about $5.00 per pound), by the truckload over ice or loads of of at $100.00 for each forty foot log shipped to the sawmills (or $2.50 a foot), it's amazing how many people will assume the risk, along with their employers, to make money without any guarantee.

In the premieres for "AxeMen" were excerpts from loggers talking about their job.  One was a man with only part of one arm who scoffed at his misfortune and said it was of no importance, you just take it like a man and keep working.  I wondered how he could find work with only part of one hand and arm.  I needn't worry. he was not only a logger, but owned his own company, shipped more truckloads of logged timber than any other crew and was a millionaire.  If only Congress had such guts.

The solution to most of our needs, including oil, is pretty straight forward.  The government has to allow the unplugging of old wells, not combat the drilling of new ones in the western states or ANWR, allow the unleasing of the energy of the people through free enterprise and leave the people alone.  Otherwise, it's going to be one hell of modern day tea party against an unresponsive government.
