If you need someone to lie on cue, hire a convicted perjurer. At the same time, to avoid being impeached yourself, hire the only elected President in history to be impeached for perjury to cover for your own lies and duplicity. Am I being redundant here? Not at all. Billy Jeff was convicted of perjury in the Paula Jones case and impeached for perjury in the Lewinsky blue dress fiasco. What a double resume enhancement for a leader of the Democrat party and a further way to build common ground with Obama? Why else would Bill Clinton step forward, after talking with Joe Just Tax, and say he was working as an intermediary for the White House to offer a non-paying appointment on a board to Joe Just Tax if Joe would stop running for Snarlin Arlen's Senate seat?
Does this square with what Joe himself said about the offer in the past? It has no relation whatever. The retired admiral said over and over someone in the White House offered him a job if he would drop out of his primary run for the Senate. Bill Clinton is no longer in office or has any direct contact with the White House except the indirect conduit of his wife being the nominal and rarely used Secretary of State. Also, the thing offered was a job, not a non-paying position on a board. Joe never mentioned a board position once until this newest version of the tale. Is this a way to avoid violating one or more possible felonies? If it is, it isn't likely to fly. Any government position offered by the White House, even with an intermediary, has some intrinsic value, even in a mimimalist universe. The value of the position as measured by potential bribes alone would be hard to calculate and by its existence alone would violate the law.
Enter Bubba, who takes the possiblitilty for an impeachable offense onto himself, even though he is no longer in a position to be impeached. In this regard, Bubba is just peachy for the position of scapegoat. Elvis, however, did not deny or sever the connection of the White House and Rep. Just Tax (D PA). The new story is weak and implausible. If it was a ship, it would sink. As a lie, it stinks, but it's their new group think story and they're obviously sticking with it, at least until next week.
The funniest thing about the narrative is that the Obama Administration is actully denying the one job they may be credited with creating outside of the executive branch. So why cover up the creation of this one job with a dog and pony story about a position on a board? But this is their new line, even though, according to a Byron York article reprinted by Defend America, Rep. Joe can't even qualify for the position because, as a Reporesentative, he's a government employee. What a shame, either activity would have been part of Obama's Stimulant Program, to increase curruption in his administration.
The incident may actually have a real stimulant effect upon the economy in the end. Coverups usually become far larger than the initial incident that brought them about, like Watergate. Imagine the House hearings on this coverup after the Republicans take over the House of Representatives in November (unless the Rinos in Republican leadership screw everything up from now till then) and all the jobs created to investigate the charges, including a special prosecutor. Obama may in the end produce real jobs while defending his hold on his own and take the credit on the road during his re-election campaign. We can only hope.
