It's been a year of evolution and a burgeoning revolution. My second Tea Party in Pittsburgh was bigger and more dynamic than the first one last year. The optimism was higher, the spirit greater, because we had seen the effect of the awakening of the sleeping giant Mrs. Abrams told Arlen Specter about at a town hall meeting here in Pennsylvania. This is a revolution among hard working people, among the Silent Majority who have been finally motivated to express their grievances. As I stated in my previous posts, both rallies were a cross section of America, with people of different races and backgrounds showing up against the Federal government in a civil and civilized protest.
Many of the attendees were out of practice, as far as demonstrating for what they believed in was concerened, but they were determined to be there and express their views. I saw many with signs, with statements like "Change? We got Tyranny!" "Reboot Congress and America!" "When Injustice becomes the law, resistence becomes duty.-TJ". The TJ was for that radical and anti-Democrat acitivist, Thomas Jefferson, who founded what has morphed into the so called Democrat Party, which now acts more like a Communist party by piling on one injustice after another on the American citizens.
There were other posters, including "Repeal - Impeach" and even another one from last year "The Democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who will not."-Thomas Jefferson. The Democrat Party of today has nothing to do with Jefferson's Democracy or the Republic, but everything to do with the demagoguery of the Left and mob rule.
As to the astroturfing of the Left, I thought I saw two of them, but was pleasantly suprised. They were a couple of young punkers. They both had died black hair, tattoos and torn clothes, the guy even had a black Mohawk. But it was their signs that caught my attention. In fact, his sign had two messages. The one side said "12.8 Trillion Dollars. The Chinese will not keep bailing us out-Act Responsibly." The other side simply stated "13% Flat Tax". Her sign had similar sentiments. I guese they weren't privileged members of the Tea Party.
As to the Media citing a survey that found most of the Tea Party members don't think they are over taxed, may I remind them of other signs I have seen at both rallies which sum up what the Tea Party is all about.
Taxed
Enough
Already
A front page article in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette by Post-Gazette writer James O'Toole on Friday the 16th was fairly even handed in covering the rally, until he went off the rails into leftist lunacy by stating his opinion that "...federal taxes on individuals have actually gone down since the Obama adminstration took office, chiefly through a variety of tax breaks enacted along with the adminstration's stimulis package." It is becoming a repeated mantra among other reporters, representing more a parroting of some liberal consensus slipped into most reports, perhpas to show some group think activity. And the Post-Gazette wonders why its circulation and advertising revenues continue to decline. The need for the New Press is greater than ever before.
So what do we do now? There are Post Party Summits taking place in April and May across America. One will be at the Embassy Suites Hotel near the Pittsburgh Ariport here in the Pittsburgh area on April 23-24, 2010 starting Friday night to help facilitate further organizing and action. There will be speakers and training for the following: running for office, fundraising, voter registration, media training, women in politics (imagine that among supposed chauvinistic misanthropes) and other topics. The adress is:
Embassy Suites Pittsburgh Airport
550Cherrington Parkway
Coroapolis, PA 15108
Or call to Register at (412) 331-8700 ext. 316 (if not that extension, try 613) before Friday for $50.00 or $80.00 at the door. Perhaps only the privileged will be able to afford attending. I just paid more to the IRS this year under Obama's Hope and Change and his bogus tax cuts, for which I am eternally grateful. More on the effect of the Obama tax effect later.
Go to
http://summit.americanmajority.org to find out about summits near you. I'm working both days, but I will try to attend part of it. It's time to really get organized and change America back to a free Republic.
