Julius Caesar's reign as Dictator for Life of Rome ended on the Ides of March. This week, we need the Healthcare Nationalization Bill to end in the House. It's fortunate the Ides of March is the first day in such an important week. It reminds us that the best laid plans of mice, men and the rats in government often come to nothing in a strong republic like the United States, even as Obama and his thugs are putting on a renued full court press to pass the nationalization of one sixth of our economy.
Can they succeed? Look how desperate and shrill they have become. They simply don't have the votes, unless they can convince us of the futility of our efforts and intimidate and switch enough of their own members in the House. Some of the undecided and the ones leaning away from favoring the bill are their main targets.
One of them is Rep. Altmire here in Western PA. He voted against it the first time, but has been wavering lately. Altmire has gone as far as to tell a group of Tea Party members that, despite the national polls showing over sixty percent of the people are against the measure (in whatever form it is in now), somehow the people in his district are split on the issue. A new survey in Altmire's district shows he's an accomplished spineless politician and very fluid with the truth.
He is also complaining about all the calls, mail and email he's receiving from the plebians outside of Washington from his district and across the country. So you see, we are making a difference, by plunging a knife into the communist takeover of the healthcare segment of our economy with every call and message. It's only appropriate, March was named after Mars, the Roman god of war, so it is high time we marshal our efforts to kill something that seemed all but inevitable last July and is now only being kept alive by progressive bluster. This is war, the Left is losing and we are Marching on.
