Dr. Sowell and Dr. Williams have made excellent postings today on stupidity and a dubious right to healthcare. But does not artificial stupidity, as imposed on students in America, lead to the assumption of healthcare as a right by those afflicted? Are not all meaningful rights given to us, as natural rights, free and clear of any government mandate or capricious demand by those who want someone else to pay for them? Are not the greater number of those rights rights not protected from government intervention by the 9th and 10th Amendments?
At the same time, does not the artificial stupidity so systematically conditioned into to so many Americans, not constitute a pre-existing condition under whatever is passing for preposed Federal healthcare? Imagine the creation of endless claims on the new Federal system resulting from what the Obsessive Progressives in Washington are ramming through Congress? It's hard to tell the final outcome, because no one seems to know what bill is now being considered, the Senate's or Obama's outline. None of the liberal zealots are even taking the time to find out. Perhaps artificail stupidity is already too far entrenched in Washington among the overtly endoctrinated members of Congress pushing healthcare and represents a new form of mental illness which everyone else will have to pay for as soon as the bill is passed? Are members of Congress then to be the first recipients of this new entitlement on our dime? Not after the November elections. Any member of Congress so affected by this pre-exsiting condition will be better served in the confines of their own private, privately paid for sanitarium, back home.
We have the right to our own happiness or despair, our own money and resources. Our rights are free and do not cost anyone else money to support us, nor should we be compelled to support others, except through our own volition. As Forrest Gump always said "Stupid is as stupid does." But stupidity is neither a right or a pre-exsting condition others are conditioned or compelled to pay for in perpetuity. Stupidity, ignorence or enlightenment are our own individual concerns, arrived at through our own thoughts and actions, not the edicts of the truly afflicted from on high.
