La Raza and Racism

Just when Obama proves himself an idiot, McCain proves his equal.  They have both accepted invitations to appear at the La Raza convention in July.  Now McCain proposes having a town hall type debate between the two of them at the event.  For what reason?  To pander to a racist organization?  La Raza is Spanish for "The Race" and is supposedly an advocacy group for Hispanics, specifically those of Mexican descent.  "The Race" in the name are the mixed race mestizos of Mexico who make up three quarters of the population of Mexico.  They are of both American Indian and white European descent who should be the last people to insist on a racist name for an advocacy group who supposedly promotes their race over others.  But when you're racists, why confuse yourself with facts?

The reason for both candidates being at this meeting is because even they are pursuing a false premise.  Hispanics are now supposedly the largest racial minority group in the country, according to the media.  But the media lies to us, including redefining a phrase like "Hispanic" and fabricating it into a social shorthand, a catch-all phrase that can mean almost anything.  Originally, Hispanic means someone descended of the aboriginal peoples of the Iberian peninsula consisting of the nations of Spain and Portugal.  Now, it has been expanded to the point it can encompass anyone from white Basques and famous Spaniards like Fernando Lamas and Antonio Bandares, to Cubans, to Filipinos to the people of East Timor.  Where is the significance of "La Raza" in the defining of Hispanic, which has become a linquistic and cultural definition?  It is now simply a convenient weapon to feed the guilt of liberal racist whites.  The largest "Hispanic" country in the world is a racially diverse and mixed country where the majority of the people speak Portugese, not Spanish.  It's called Brazil.

The question now to consider is as followed.  How can an organization like La Raza be the proper forum of a debate in such a racially sensitive, pardon the phrase, race for the White House?  So much for hyper-sensitive racial awareness.  It is the awareness of the racist and the senseless among us.  If you are a mestizo of mixed race descent, how can you be in perpetual hatred by half of your ancestry against the other half of your ancestry?  The Spanish Conquest can not be undone.  It has wrought many changes in the world, including your own life.  To waste your life hating the very thing that has brought you into existence is to waste that life.

La Raza feeds on false premises, while it looks for a mythological ancestral home of Aztlan in, suprise suprise, the Southwestern United States.  It might be in Mexico, but the white oligarchy that has ruled the country for 500 hundred years would never allow La Razza to get away with the legal actions "the race" is trying to pull off in this country.  Their other potential ancestral home is in the Iberian penisula, but those lands do not have naything like all that valuable real estate in America; like California,Texas, McCain's Arizona and Las Vegas.  If Aztlan exists, it exists not far distant from the Valley of Mexico in Mexico where the Aztecs' chichimec ancestors roamed before gladly giving up those lands when entering the valley they would eventually subjegate as conquistidors themselves.  History thus puts the lie to La Raza's own self loathing.  Racism only has to depend on misconceptions and propaganda to extract money and property for a minority of leaders in any self-declared and self-defined group.

Now, have mestizos themselves oppressed other people?  Yes, in the neghboring country of Guatemala (which means "The Thicket") there is a thorny situation where the ruling classes are made up, not of whites, but mestizos who have oppressed the Mayan Indians in their own country, even though the mestizos in question are of partial Mayan descent as well.

Can such self loathing, such hatred of part of ones' ancestry be so easily enraged and then directed toward the supposed villians in one's own ancestry?  Yes, there was a man who was so consumed with fears he might have some inferior ancestry he killed millions of supposed men and women, possible relatives, to assuage his liberal guilt through a socialist, state run program of murder.  His name was Adolph Hitler.  Can La Raza be any better or, at the same time, be pandered to for a terribly flawed misconception?

McCain and Obama should not debate each other at the La Raza convention, they both need to debate against the racist tendencies of La Raza.  Being Senators from the over rated, pompous, politically correct debating society called the U.S. Senate, I doubt they will even consider it.  The reason is simple, racism and ignorence are self-perpetuating.
